Ministry: Russia’s spring sowing sixfold faster on year as of Wed
MOSCOW, Mar 20 (PRIME) -- Russian farmers sowed 544,800 hectares with spring crops as of Wednesday since the start of spring field works, which is six times higher than the area sowed as of the same date of 2017, the Agriculture Ministry said in a statement.
Spring crops are to be sowed on a total area of 52.288 million hectares in 2019. Grain crops and legumes are to be sowed on an area of 29.548 million hectares.
